If you are accepted for a BOXT Life plan, the boiler will be bought upfront in one payment on your behalf. You then simply make monthly payments (including interest) until the loan amount is repaid. An additional monthly amount will be added to this monthly payment to cover the cost of all your servicing allowing you to spread the cost of the annual boiler service. This additional monthly servicing amount is not subject to any interest charges. Whilst you make your monthly payments you are renting the boiler from HomeServe Finance but once your last payment is made the ownership of the boiler automatically transfers to you. At any point during the plan you can buy the boiler, take ownership and exit the plan by paying off the outstanding balance plus a small amount of interest. You rent the boiler during the term of the agreement and then ownership of the boiler is transferred to you at the end of the agreement. This means you will own the boiler once your last payment has been made or alternatively, if you choose to buy the boiler outright before the end of the plan then ownership will transfer to you at that point.
As your boiler approaches the due date for its annual service you will be sent a reminder and asked to book a service at your convenience through the website, or if you prefer you can call us on 0800 193 7777. The annual service needs to be undertaken by us as this service is included in your fixed monthly plan payments. Failure to comply may invalidate any boiler warranty or guarantee.

Yes, for landlords, the plan includes a Gas Safety Certificate as well as a boiler service.
