Your engineer will be able to properly diagnose the issue and provide you with an estimate of how much the repairs will cost. At BOXT, we charge a flat callout fee of £89 for a one-hour consultation visit, and if we can fix the problem there and then with no additional parts, you won’t pay any more! If any extras or more time is needed, we won’t charge for anything else without discussing it with you first.

It is illegal for anyone without the necessary accreditations to do any work on a gas boiler, whether that’s installing or repairing it. We don’t recommend that you get a handyperson to repair any type of boiler, electric or gas, as they won’t have the necessary training to do the job to a high standard.

You can carry out routine maintenance checks yourself, such as checking the system pressure and bleeding radiators, but any in-depth maintenance or repairs must be carried out by a trained and qualified professional.
