Although every home is different, most can install and benefit from solar. It’s a great choice if you want to reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint. The main things to watch out for are not enough roof space, poor roof condition, obstacles and lots of shade. We’ll keep an eye out for all these and more as part of the process at BOXT.

There has been a significant increase in the performance of solar panels and storage solutions over the past few years. Most recent studies have shown that through using a solar power system, you could cut your energy bills by as much as 90%. The higher your energy usage at home, the greater your potential savings.

Planning permission usually isn’t required for domestic solar panel installations as they fall under ‘permitted development’. However, if your home is in a conservation area you may need to get approval from the council.

After you’ve answered some initial questions about your home, one of our experts will conduct a video survey so we can put together a tailored plan for the perfect set-up for your home.

Once we have this plan and you’ve chosen an install date that suits you, it typically only takes one or two days for the install, depending on the size of your system and access to the roof. The installation includes fixing the panels to your roof, installing all required cables and setting up your inverter.

Our engineer will give you a full run-through of the system before they leave, and we’ll also be available for ongoing support and maintenance to help you get the most out of your new system.
