It means kilowatt. This is the unit of measurement air conditioning units are sized by. The higher the kW, the higher the cooling and heating power it has, meaning usually higher kWs is needed for bigger, warmer rooms.

The size of the unit you need is dependent mainly on the size of the room, though there are some other considerations like how much sunlight the room gets.

You will receive your indoor unit, outdoor unit, and a remote as standard, and then any extra bits you need depending on what you answered while using our online questionnaire, such as a specialist wall bracket etc.

Yes, you can. Either choose "Somewhere else" when asked which room you want air conditioning in, or contact us via phone or live chat to discuss the options.

We do not sell air conditioning without installation included. You need an fGas qualified engineer to fit your air conditioning unit, which is why installation comes as standard with all our fixed price packages.

Yes, you can. All the air conditioning units we sell come with the ability to heat, as well as cool.

Yes, you do need the outdoor unit for the indoor unit to work.

You can have the outdoor unit fitted anywhere on your property, as long as the location meets the following criteria:

• There is at least 1 metre clearance around the where the unit will be, e.g. no other walls, fences etc
• You have the freeholders permission to have the unit placed there

Also, if you have vegetation within a metre of the outdoor unit, the heat from the unit may cause the vegetation to die off.

We suggest having your outdoor unit floor mounted, on the same wall as where the indoor unit is, if possible.

Your warranty for the product will be shown on the product details page, as well as in your confirmation emails after you buy. We will register the warranty for you, you don't need to do anything.

Yes, all of our fixed price air conditioning packages include installation.

We'll ask you a few questions online before giving you a fixed price. These are the same sort of questions a surveyor would ask in the traditional model, but we save you the hassle of a home visit. As long as the questions are answered correctly the installation should run smoothly so we can give you a genuine fixed price.

Yes you can. Just go through the journey and tell us where you'd like the product installed.

We will show you the recommended air conditioning units based on your answers you gave us, so if you are seeing multiple packages, you could have any of these. The difference will be in power of unit needed for your room, or area, and brand. Where you are presented options of more than 1 power size (kW), the higher power size is seen as an upgrade option if you wanted the more power.

Your installation should take no longer than 1 day. If there are unforeseen complications, the installation may take longer.

Clear away the areas where you will have your units installed. For the indoor unit, ensure that the installer can reach the wall area, and the surrounding area is clear of clutter, or any valuables that could break easily. For the outdoor unit, ensure the area is cleared away and there are no obstacles.

You do not need planning permission in most cases. However, contact us if you want to discuss this.

Yes, from the freeholder of the building or land. Having air conditioning installed requires units being fitted to your indoor and outdoor walls, which requires permission from the freeholder. We do not check this at the point of purchase, so it is your responsibility to ensure you have permission before your installation.
